1. Day 1. Tbilisi
Arrive at Tbilisi Airport, meet and greet with the driver and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon Tbilisi tour with our professional guide and see the sightseeing of the city. Tbilisi - The capital and the largest city of Georgia, History, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. So here you can see Orthodox churches also temples and mosques, ancient and modern buildings, historical places, waterfalls, and sulfur ancient baths which are known as mineral waters. We will be starting our tour of the Holy Trinity cathedral, one of the largest orthodox cathedrals in Georgia. Continue to walk to Metekhi church and see the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali, the founder of Tbilisi. Stroll down to the district of sulfur bath houses passing by the only mosque in Tbilisi. Stroll through the Sharden area full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine-tasting bars, and souvenir shops, and breathe in the living past. Visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the clock tower of the famous Rezo Gabriadze Theatre. Back to the hotel.
Day 2. Tbilisi-Sighnaghi-Telavi
On the second day, we will visit the historic town of Sighnaghi — known as the “City of Love” beautiful Georgian and Italian Renaissance architecture, famous for wines and traditional Georgian carpets. Also, an excellent Sighnaghi fortress-fence (8th century)is the first largest in Europe (after the Chinese wall), overlooking Alazani valley. The defensive walls and 28 towers were built by King Erekle II in the 18th century against the Lezgian invasion. Little has changed here for the last 200 years. The town has preserved its original image and now offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding Caucasus Mountain. 4600 meters long stretch of separate signage in two parts old and new signage! In Sighnaghi you can see Niko Pirosmani's paintings. Then we will go to Bodbe Monastery (4th century) holds the tomb of St. Nino, the Cappadocian maiden who converted the Georgian people to Christianity as early as 337. (Here is the medicinal source originating from St. Nino's prayer. After we will visit Telavi, the Batonis Fortress in Telavi. It was the residence of the kings of Kakheti in the 16th-18th centuries. The historical significance palace where was born King Erekle II. Alaverdi Monastery (20 km from Telavi) was founded by Assyrian father Joseph Alaverdali. Also, we will go to Tsinandali and see Alexander Chavchavadze's palace. Tsinandali was the estate of the Chavchavadze family – representatives of the 19th-century Georgian aristocracy. A walk through the beautiful English-style garden will take you to the house museum of the famous poet and duke Alexander Chavchavadze and the winery where you can taste some famous Kakhetian wines and visit the collection of old wines, the oldest going back to 1814. The first person who Molded wine in Georgia with European rule. Also, we will visit the old and new Shuamata monastery complexes. Overnight at the hotel in Telavi.
Day 3. Telavi-Mthskheta-Stephantsminda
departure to Mtskheta. Mskheta due to its historical significance and several cultural monuments, the “Historical Monuments of Mtskheta” become a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994. As the birthplace and one of the most vibrant centers of Christianity in Georgia, Mtskheta was declared the “Holy City” by the Georgian Orthodox Church in 2014.
Svetitskhoveli- Cathedral- the first church built in the 4th century. Afterward, during the centuries it became the largest and the most impressive church in Georgia. Christ’s mantle was buried here, which was brought here from Jerusalem. The church is on the UNESCO world heritage site.
Holy Cross Monastery- Jvari Monastery – is a Georgian Orthodox monastery of the 4th century. Jvari Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop at the mountainous confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the town of Mtskheta, formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Iberia. There are picturesque views of Tbilisi and Mtskheta from the monastery territory. Nowadays Jvari Monastery is an active church and monks live there. Listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
On the way to Kazbegi, we will see the Jinvali reservoir, Ananuri Castle, and the Fortress complex. This complex was built during the XV-XVII centuries and its unique because of its architecture and history. There are monuments of cult, military, and secular things. After Ananuri we will arrive at to piece monument of Gudauri. It's located in the mountains of the Caucasus. The filming is built-in piano style. and it depicts the image of the eviction of the Soviet Union. From there opens a beautiful view that attracts all visitors. Then we will go to Gergeti Trinity church which is the most symbolic place of Kazbegi. of 14th century - It was built on the slope of Mt. Mkinvartsveri (top of the glacier), on the left bank of the river Tergi. It is the monument built on the highest spot in Europe. Gergeti is a domed church with a bell tower.
Day 4. Stephantsminda-Gergeti-Gveleti-Stephantsminda
Kazbegi is a village in North Georgia and is most popular among hikers. It's surrounded by beautiful mountains. There is a unique view from Kazbegi (5047m) and from Kazbegi Gergeti’s trinity erected on the mountain, which is located opposite Kazbegi. Kazbegi is the gateway to the world of mountains and is associated with the grandeur of mountain landscapes. We'll hike to Gergety monastery. Both ways approximately 3h. After coming back to the village we will have a lunch and rest hour. After Lunch, we will go to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Georgia. Then going back to Stephantsminda.
Day 5. Stephantsminda-Gori-Uphlistsikhe-Kutaisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Starting the journey to Gori.
where we will see the Joseph Stalin Museum – The main corpus of the complex is a large palazzo in Stalinist Gothic style, built-in 1951 ostensibly as a local history museum, but clearly intended to become a memorial of Stalin, who died in 1953. The exhibition is chronologically divided into several rooms, which keep a lot of exhibits that are actually or allegedly owned by Stalin, including furniture, personal items, and gifts. From here drive to Uflistikhe. From here depart to Uflistsikhe cave.
Uplistsikhe caves are the most historical and cultural place in Georgia. “The city of the priests” where history begins in antiquity, is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia. Built on a high rocky left bank of the Mtkvari River. You can not forget the impressions that give you the stone city. Uplistsikhe contains structures from the Iron age and Middle ages. Is one of the oldest settlements of Georgia, and is full of rock-cut structures, caves, and tunnels. The Christian church from the 10th century stands on the top of the summit. After the Christianisation of Georgia, the town lost its importance. From Gori go to Kutaisi, the second biggest city.
Day 6. Kutaisi-Mestia
After breakfast we start to survey an amazing Mestia - „The country of towers“ Mestia - is located in the Svaneti region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti province in northwest Georgia, at elevation 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in the Caucasus Mountains. There we will see a typical Svan fortified dwelling consisting of a tower, an adjacent house, and some other structures encircled by a defensive wall, stone defensive towers "Svan towers", which promise you unforgettable impressions.
Day 7. Mestia-Ushguli
On the sixth day depart from Mestia to Ushguli, the highest settlement in Europe- which is situated near the foot of Shxara. (2,100 meters.6,900 ft) Recognized as the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will see villages with its typical Svaneti defensive tower houses. We will see a lot of the landmarks here, museums, towers, and ancient temples. From the beautiful mountain Zuruldi, we will go through the ropeway and you will enjoy seeing the famous mountain Tetnuldi. With an unforgettable impression, we will return to the hotel.
Day 8. Ushguli-Shkhara-Mestia
After Breakfast, we start hiking to Shkhar, the highest point in Georgia and one of the highest in the whole of Europe. On the way, we'll see amazing views and in the end, we see a breathtaking Glacier and the born place of the river Enguri. Dinner at the hotel in Mestia.
Day 9. Mestia-Kutaisi
After breakfast, we'll go to Kutaisi. It's a perfect chance to explore the amazing sunny evenings and nightlife of Kutaisi.
Day 10. Kutaisi- Tbilisi
After breakfast goes back to Kutaisi and enjoy your free evening in the capital.
